I Almost Had It!

Knowing that Skyrim was delivered today I went to Target, figuring the salespeople there probably had no idea when the official launch of SKyrim was. I asked, and sure enough they had it in stock, and the clerk went to get it for me. He came to the counter, Skyrim in hand, and said "Let me ring it up for you." I was convulsing with anticipation, until the game wouldn't ring up, and he figured out why. Sorry Bethesda, he had to try =(

LOL I tired the same thing @ Target today.

I picked out some guy who looked clueless and asked if they had Skyrim PC in. He asked if I saw it on the shelves I said no but asked him to go check in the back and he did. But he came back and said "Sorry it is not available for sale yet"

So now I bought it via Steam and preloading right now.

Good employees.
For shame, fellow forum-goer. For shame!

An act like that would surely cost them their employment!

How do you know he wasnt getting it for one fo the consoles?

Hmm, good question. I guess I just assumed with his using punctuation and not having to resort to words like l33t and pwnz etc that he must be a PC gamer

Obviously what they say about assuming could be correct here, only time will tell.

However, doing some preliminary investigative foruming.. With the above being said, looking at some of his past posts brings this up:

Anyone know a physical retailer I can buy one of these from? I much prefer the 360 controls over a mouse and keyboard, but the only place I can find an offical microsoft adaptor is online, and I've read that a lot of the online retailers sell inferior chinese knockoffs rather than the ones endorsed by microsoft. I'd like to buy one from a store if I can, but I can't even find one in the Fry's merchandise database.

So, I just assumed that since he would prefer the 360 controls over a mouse and keyboard that he was going to be using a computer preferably with a 360 controller hooked up to it.

Of course he still may have been looking to get a console version even if he plays games on the PC.

How is it that Target employees wouldn't know when the official launch is? Do they have aliens working there, or what?

I think that the propensity to "PC game" is more contingent upon finances than grammar, though I could be mistaken...

I've never actually seen anyone use the word l33t. It's really embarrassing to be called a PC gamer sometimes, some people just go over board with console user bashing. Very immature. Some of the biggest hypocrites I've ever seen in my life.

Do you have images turned off or something? Usually a  indicates joking. Or perhaps you didn't know that.

No, I didn't know that. Because I come from Gamefaks, where winkies usually indicate someone just trying to insult someone further. Sorry.

That's when I said "Look! A Distraction!" and snatched it from him, running at full speed out of the store.

My friend is playing Skyrim right this moment! She got it early where she lives. Only thing she really told me so far is that the graphics are insane :).

Yeah, GameFaqs is freaking ridiculous. The Final Fantasy XIII-2 board is probably the worst board I've ever, ever seen. I don't know what was worse, the trolls, or the people trolling trolls. That board got me physically angry sometimes. I had to leave. I like this one so far. While there is some console bashing, it doesn't have near the amount that the PC board of Skyrim on GameFaqs has.
