I am still having problem with downloading Skyrim on Steam because I get 76kb per second when I have 16Mbit connection.
I changed from Norway to Sweden in the Cloud'thing'option without it having any impact, very unsure how to make it go faster because with this speed I don't see myself getting the game down for the release hour.

Please don't delete this post, I don't see why you want to make it harder for me to get help to download a game that I bought? O.o

The problem was fixed by changing to another region far far far away from me, weird.

But my speed is now steady at 1000 kb per second *happy*

Bandwidth congestion most likely.

You'll get people telling you to "open your ports", but it's completely irrelevant.

It's a popular game and many people will be trying to download it at the same time. Steam, contrary to popular opinion, is NOT a fast download network.

There is nothing you can do about it.
I pay $59 a month (US) for the fastest cable internet my ISP offers, and when it comes to Steam you are subject to their servers performance but moreover, how many other people are downloading at the same time as you.
Thus, I can get 2MB/s, but when it comes to Steam it will fluctuate between 700 KBs and 2+ MB/s, with an average of 700 or 800 KB/s.
The strange thing is that regardless of my download speed, no game has ever taken more than an hour to download including Skyrim.
Yet, a friend of mine who has much faster FIber Optic than my cable, takes several hours to download a game.
But you must consider, i am on a very new and fast PC whereas he is on an older slower PC.
Just download it before going to bed and when you wake up it wil be done.
