Skyrim Steam version and mods - any problems?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:50 am

Hi guys, quick question.

If I have the Steam version of Skyrim, will I have any problems running mods?

Oblivion, for example, had some mods/programs like OBSE that would launch before the game and capture game hooks (to the best of my understanding). Will I be able to run mods like that with the Steam version?

TIA.

Scrip Extenders works just fine with Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas on Steam. I don't see why Skyrim should be an exception.

Every version of the game is running with steam, so if any mods conflict with it, all mods will conflict with it. Hence, people will prolly find a workaround fast. And hopefully Bethesda had this in mind in the beginning.

It'll be fine. Besides, all PC versions end up on Steam.

Well, since EVERY version for the PC is a Steam version, then yes. Someone will come up with something. I had no problem running mods with New Vegas which was all on Steam too.

All versions are Steam versions, including retail copies. So don't worry about it.

Odds are good that a script extender will be possible, last time Steam also assisted the OBSE team in getting it to work.

Good to know. Thanks for the answers, all.
