Really Bethesda...?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:00 am

I did take a look at my retailers website and that was I had to read:

Bethesda liefert unsere bestellten UK-Versionen leider mit 1 Woche Versp?tung aus.

I translate it:

Bethesda delivers our ordered UK-Versions unfortunately with 1 week delay.

I am near to cancel my order. I hate these german translations and if I mod then I mod in english. But as it seems 11.11.2011 doesn't count for people who want to play the game in the original language.

The argument that I could download the english language files per steam isn't valid because I am at a crappy internet connection at the moment.

Why are always the people who regularly pay (yes I pre orderd and already payed) for a game the one who get punished. One week is more then enough for the guys we aren't allowed to talk about. The XBOX version was already floating around before the start of the sale.

I am angry!

Calm down, CIS has it worse. We can't buy the game in the first place. One week is not that long if you think about it.

Blame your countrymen who demand to have their game in german.

1 week? Not that horrible. It could've been a much longer delay and then you would really be mad. Besides, I am sure there was a good reason behind it.

Nothing of this is Bethesdas fault. Do you blame Mahatma Gandhi for british soldiers massacring a town square worth of men, women and children just because he was the main reason why they did it? Oh crap that woman just got violated. Let's throw stones at her.

So rather than wait a week longer (y'know, since most of the community's been waiting months/years, and people are selling the game between the 8th and 15th depending on region) and actually enjoy the product, you're close to cancelling your preorder entirely because of a minor inconvenience, denying yourself the opportunity to enjoy it at all.

I fail to see sound logic here.

He said he might cancel preorder but he didn's say he won't play the game.

I don't mean to be spiteful and douchy, so forgive me, but... honestly, germany and all the other countries that are demanding local translations are actually delaying the game for everyone else in the entire world. So I can't really feel sorry for you.

@Malavok
That's why I quoted the retailer. I have no way to verify this statement. I can only take it and can tell here what I think about it. The only good reason I can think of is that they miscalculated the demand and need more UK versions as planned and this is a reason which Bethesda can be blamed for. But then I am asking myself why I pre ordered two month before release and paid one month ahead.

I did everything I could to allow proper planing.
