Another Skyrim Review

Seriously, visit this website, they're a small group of guys that are knowledgeable, genuine and usually pretty funny. Tomorrow they are doing a 12 hour Skyrim marathon, with their former co-worker and good friend Greg Kasavin who also used to work at gamespot but left, he did the 12 hour marathon then for oblivion then and he's doing it again here for Skyrim (he currently works at super giant games, the guys who made that great indie game Bastion).

I used to visit websites like IGN, Gametrailers and Eurogamer all the time, but for the last 2 years i've probably visited giant bomb every day, those other websites are ones that nowadays i'd maybe check every few weeks to just see if they have any gameplay footage or things that bigger game websites may have access to but i otherwise don't bother. They also do these great big podcasts called the giant bombcast which goes on for about two and half hours or so every tuesday.

The website was formed by Jeff Gerstmann (former editor of gamespot who was fired because he put up an honest review of Kane and Lynch, a game which was being heavily marketed at the time by gamespot, who weren't too happy with jeff being an honest reviewer) and Ryan Davis (who also worked at gamespot, but left after Jeff was fired as a sign of protest and to join him in founding giant bomb).

If even only one person reads this and goes to that website and discovers how awesome it is then i'll be happy.

Lol see those people getting mad just 'cause he said "no co-op" when the author pretty much glorified every other aspect of the game?

Why are you making any of these assumptions any time someone mentions optional co-op? Do you know what optional co-op means? It means you can play an Elder Scrolls game like you're used to, alone, if that's how you want to play it. Or, you and a friend can experience the game together.

That's the point in having the "option". Use it or don't use it. Would it really disturb you that much to know that while you're experience Skryim in what you consider the only "true way to play", someone else may be running around the same game with their buddy at their side?

Zomg, crucify them for playing differently than you! In an Elder's Scroll game, no less, where choice be damned!

Oh, wait.

Here let me clarify as if I didn't already.... IMO (In My Opinion) you cannot just add an option to a game of this size that has coop. It's not that easy. I am not crucifying anyone just merely stating MY opinion. I'll say it again, I am up for convincing, but I do not see any way to just add the option of coop. You either split the dev team up into working on multi and single or pay more money for a bigger team. You have to decide how the game's quests would function among many many other things.

Next time read what I said rather than torch me for an opinion. I never threw down the notion of coop. I rather am stating why i feel that singleplayer is a must until a solution is found (possibly next gen) without changing any major gameplay aspects.

In this sites defense, they don't censor critical comments. :celebration:

I had to tell them what a terrible job they did, I couldn't help myself.

Cons:

No Co-op – I always get [censored] for this but I’m a huge fan of coop experiences. This game screams for it.

God I hate when reviewers feel like their preference is a con for a game.
