Will Skyrim be THAT Easy2Play?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 6:30 pm

I'm bit confused.

I've seen many gameplay/trailers of Skyrim.
Enemies drop way2fast .. i hate those finishing moves btw. ( i hope i'm not forced to use them)
That's why i'm going to play an Archer/Mage
But i'm worried about Mages too... when a Mage freezes some1, he dies like 100% ? (i hope this guy who used it played easy mode or was a higher level) :sadvaultboy:

I never liked that V.A.T.S system in Fallout 3/New vegas, i only used it if the enemies came to close to me . :toughninja:

I hope, if i use a bow that every single enemy won't drop by just 1 Shot... (guards for example)
2-3 shot is more fun. LOL :disguise:

They were using 'Todd Mode' and were high level as well as being on god mode, so I wouldn't worry.

There is no VATS system in Skyrim. Everything is in realtime. Unless you have a perk to slow down time.

The freezing you've seen is a dragon shout. And at low levels, enemies typically drop in a few hits.

The demos shown were in todd/god mode, he had 999 health. After watching some... eh footage it can be pretty easy to die.

Well if it is too easy to play, put the difficulty up.

The finishing moves are triggered somewhat automatically I believe, depending on your skill level.

I haven't found a way to purposely trigger or not trigger them.

I'm playing the game on Adept, which is the "normal" difficulty. There are 5 btw, no slider with 20+ positions.

The most gameplay things you've seen are probably the early main quest missions, or any other early faction quest. Bethesda as certainly put a lot of effort into making these scale with player level well.

BUT, if you simply head out of town, run for a mile or 2 and enter some random dungeon, you're likely to find quite the challenge. No really. Those [censored] bandits hit hard.

TL;DR No the game is not too easy, you'll see. ;)

EDIT:
- The only thing it has in common with VATS is the slowed down sound effects, hehe.
- Only mudcrabs (YES SKYRIM HAS THEM) and wolves drop with 1 shot of an arrow. From stealth. Humanoid enemies at your level never do.

Funny, I've seen videos (six hours or so) with a nice variety of tough and easy NPC's. The person playing was a good fighter and dropped enemies well, but still got challenged (sometimes slaughtered) by more powerful NPC's (especially the new "boss" types you see in official videos). If there's an easy mode, it appears you watched someone play it. Anyways, if they leave in a difficulty slider, then the point is moot anyway.

Making assumptions on game play after watching someone in godmode doesn't seem terribly intelligent to me.

If you get the PC version, there are always Mods that increase realism and difficulty to harshly real world levels. When you start out at level ONE, the world is incredibly dangerous, but they also manage to make you feel more heroic when you survive against rediculous odds.

The fact that Bethesda gives us the CK in addition to the amazing canvas they provide is what makes TES the unrivaled best fantasy games. Or really, the BEST games period.

Stop replacing letters and words with numbers it makes you seem lazy.

OT: Its just a trailer and you don't see how hard the mobs hit

Todd mode? guess i've missed that one :celebration:

Well maybe i'll change my mind .. i never played any melees in Oblivion either.. (not past lvl 10..) always wanted to try Hand-To-Hand but they didn't really focus on Hand-to-Hand combat in Skyrim?
If they added some cool blink-to-the-next-enemy or pull-the-enemy-to-me spell for melees, i would definitely try it! It's just lame to run to the next enemy.... again and again :D

Never liked mods.. :/ . especially in multiplayer games
I always try to keep the game "original" .... but realism mod might be fun!

When watching todds gameplay it looks easy, but i have seen players play skyrim, they triedto kill a giant, and he didnt have a chanse, looked like he needed a tactic to kill mammooths and giants.and dragons seems to be harder too.
dont knowwhyit looks soeasy when toodds playing

I was actually impressed with the combat gameplay previews, compared to Oblivion Skyrim's combat system seems far more enjoyable, a lot smoother, and more realistic. I plan on playing on normal difficulty, but I hope to God that they don't make combat more difficult than in Oblivion. One of the reasons combat was so difficult in Oblivion in the first place was because monsters scaled to your exact level, which made combat more difficult and character deaths more frequent. It makes no sense to make Skyrim's combat more difficult than Oblivion's.

I honestly liked the combat footage I saw in the previews, and after watching Mangg's Skyrim game play videos the combat appears to be the same (unless he was playing on easy and didn't tell us  ).

The gameplays with Todd are him with a higher level well equipped character and/or game on easy. The purpose was to show the games coolness, but if its difficult. Just crank up that difficulty and you'll have a challenge.
