Performance Comparison of PC and Console

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 6:38 pm

Hey guys, I've recently came across the graphics requirements for the PC and noticed that it the recommended spec is 1GB of dedicated graphics memory, I read that the xbox 360 only has 512 MB of dedicated memory. So my question is really is just will there be a quite notable difference in performance between the two platforms. I've not watch much gameplay videos to compare since I want to save all the glory for Friday. I'm not too savvy with hardware knowledge and am probably just making a guess based upon one aspect of graphics, so I would like some more informed insights.

Thanks

The xbox actually has 256 MB of GPU ram.

The minimum requirement for PC is 512 MB. The recommend is 1 GB.

This is probably because they know Pc gamer's don'tg ame at below 720p. And the recommended will get you playing at high settings. According to Bethesda the PC version cannot go below console settings, therefore low on PC = console.

I assume then that "high" probably means higher resolution textures, larger view distances, mroe objects ont he screen, etc. Which naturally requires more GPU buffer.

The gaem seems decently optimized. The minimum requirements are almost the PC equivalent of an xbox 360, and the recommended look pretty decent as well.

I wouldn't worry.

What are your specs?
