My personal wish-list for potential DLC

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 2:21 am

Skyrim is looking amazing, and I'm sure I'll be busy for several months just toying with the standard game. However, as a console-user (like Fallout 3, might pick up the PC-version also when there's a deal on Steam), there's a lot of fan-made content that I'll probably never see. Since the Official DLC is the only possible content for 360 and PS3, and generally (but not always) higher-quality anyways, I just wanted to run down a few *PERSONAL* requests for stuff I'd love to see added in Skyrim.

*KEEP IN MIND* that I have not played the game yet, so some of these things may or may not already be in the game in some way!!!

1) Werewolves. Morrowind's Bloodmoon expansion was all about Nords, so this seems like a no-brainer. Maybe spice it up a bit, giving the option also of a Werebear or, God-willing, Weredragon?

2) "Mournhold"-like city. Skyrim looks amazing, and I'm a huge fan of Vikings! However, maybe a DLC featuring a distant, more... "civilized" city, in which Magic and Stealth thrive over Combat, would be a nice change of pace for DLC? Plus, who didn't love the Tribunal Royal Guard Armor?

3) A Two-handed Scythe, be it as a Melee-weapon or a Magical Staff. Scythes are awesome. 'Nuff said.

4) A means of leveling-up Unique-Items that you acquired at low levels. Maybe an Anvil or something?

5) A new playable race. Even if it's not considered directly canon (yet?), it might be fun to include another race to adventure in Skyrim with. Whether it be an existing race, such as a surviving Ayleid or Dremora, or a whole new race, like a "Night Elf" of "Moon Elf" as per some player-mods I remember for Morrowind, pretty much anything would be a cool addition. In terms of characters referencing your race, simply have them treat you as another race (ie. maybe Ayleid would be referred to as a High Elf).

6) Frostmourne. Okay, not Frostmourne, but I very much like the thought of a cursed sword-in-the-stone vibe. Maybe you could use the above-mentioned Scythe, found plunged in the skull of a great dragon?

1) a little bird told me that werewolves may actually be a part of the Vanilla game, but don't quote me on that.

2) MW had Mournhold, OB had SI, the pattern suggests that PCs will eventually be able to explore another city-esque locale.

3) I've had a similar thought, tho chances are this would manifest in someone's mod before the DLC is actually released. Something like an alternate weapon-set for every class of weapon= 1H: Sword=Wakizashi, Dagger=Tanto, Waraxe=1H Scythe, Mace=Club; 2H: Claymore=(Dai-)Katana, Battleaxe=2H Scythe, Warhammer=2H Mace/Morning Star... or something...

4) I don't really know what this means...

As for 5), I can pretty much guarantee that this will not happen. Look for a mod.

And 6) could happen in the Vanilla game even, nobody's played the full version (it's not out yet).

3.Solstheim

This.

Also, about your minor suggestions...Todd said they were only working on releasing big DLC (Shivering Isles esque) rather than little things (horse armor, weapons, etc).

But seriously, the return of the Dwemer would be ass kickin awesome. Maybe if they were sent to another plane of Oblivion or so we could go recover them or help them escape, but maybe we get sent there and we discover they have made a whole brand new civilization of their own with much better tec than all of Nirn with a city with that golden metal stuff they made their swords and armor with also with gears everywhere turning stuff and just making stuff happen. Maybe, I think it would be cool.

This.

True, but I'm sure they could include the little things in one of their bigger DLC/Expansion packs if they wanted. After all, Shivering Isles has a TON of content, so maybe in the midst of another DLC-pack, there just happens to be a dragon-skull or stone-base hidden in the expanded area that happens to have a weapon jutting out of it? For me, I think it'd be cool to implement a Scythe but only usable by Vampires, maybe encouraging typical Stealth players to play around with a large, but fast two-handed weapon?

Also, as far as the "Night Elves" thing... don't take that too seriously, it was more referencing to go with something that doesn't feel too far-fetched for the Elder Scrolls series, but also something new. I really quite like the thought of possibly having an Ayleid or "Heartland High Elf", as we've never *really* seen what they look like. Or, like I said, maybe even a playable Dremora, perhaps through a Conjuration-based quest-line that leads to you "cursing" yourself with the form of a Dremora?

Like I said, these are just things I would *personally* like to see, so by no means am I upset if others don't like the idea. Particularly adding a new race, I know that's probably not even something that would normally even be considered. I do quite like the thought of being able to obtain a Scythe, though! :)

1. weapon/armor skin packs for free (i know this will never happen but i like diversity in my appearance)
2. non instanced DLC areas ( shivering isles, blood moon ect..). just BAM!! a new part of the map is available to explore.
3. any city's that are destroyed as a result of a main quest ( im looking at you kavatch) showing it being rebuilt over time.
4. the ability to have a mask/set of armor that functions as a demoralize constant effect while worn (tell me walking into town with a bad ass set of demonic armor that makes people scared of you wouldnt be awesome)
5. ability to fly a dragon into combat!!!!

Personally I'd love a huge quests that would end up giving your own castle with territories and stuff. Like do a quest and come back later to conquer the castle plagued by undeads. Then travel in different parts of skyrim to acquire certain specialized people for your castle. After that need to be the head of all factions to recruit members of each order for your castle(or doing quests for the guildmasters of the factions if you're not one yet). Then investing gold into properties for the people living on the farm there. And so on.

This wishlist is way out of bounds. Most would least likely happen.

-My DLC wishlist:
1 - HC mode (returns equipment degradation, need for eating/drinking/sleeping, etc.).
2 - 3 new skills (Unarmed - a renamed version of H2H - for Warrior branch, Unarmored for Thief branch, and I still have no idea what could fit as additional skill for Mage branch - all ideas are more than welcome).
3 - Being able to see whole body from 1st person and removal of forced 3rd person during finishers, horse riding, getting knocked down, etc.
4 - Proper werebeasts (both werewolves and werebears).
5 - Mainland of Morrowind.
6 - http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Sword-singer

First 4 are a must-have DLCs imo, other two are just a sweet bonus.

For the "Additional Race", perhaps a Tsaesci? Would fit right in with the Dragons of the world, and could inspire a whole new list of weapons and such! :)
