False notification from dike Smith Electronics

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 11:04 am

Got a text from dike Smith Electronics today saying that my Skyrim pre-order is ready to pick up. Went there on lunch break only to be told by a very rude DSE staff at their Canberra Centre store saying they "sent out the notice on the wrong day". No apologies either. When asked what they would do if a customer drove 50km over to their store because of the false alarm, he just said, "Well you didn't do that, so what's your problem?"

Very rude service and not happy with the notice being sent on the wrong date. So if you preordered with dike Smith Electronics (which I am starting to call [censored] Electronics), and got a text from them today, don't bother dropping in. Grrr.

Sounds like they are appropriately named. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. At least now you know to stay away from them in the future?

Well, that could be their new motto: "We're All dikes at dike Smith".

They called themselves dike to start with, they can't be happy working there.

I don't know the full details of the case, but I personally don't think they will compensate you for just being lightly rude.

That svcks, I can empathize with your situation.
All they had to do was say this....

We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you, and we assure you that we are taking measures to improve our customer service in the future. I hope that this misstep on our part will not negatively effect your relationship with our company in the future. I personally take responsibility for making sure that this issue is resolved and that your future interactions with our company are, to the best of my ability and control, pleasant, easy, and beneficial.

Sincerely,

I'm in NZ and we also have dike Smith. I'm guessing it's only in Australasia. Hope we don't get the same kinda muck up. Although the DSE NZ preorder I got was an "online only" thing so I don't think I can even go pick it up...probably won't actually have it until 14th or after.... :(

You do realise "dike" is a nick name for "Richard" being that the owner of the franchise is called dike Smith, it makes some kind of sense...

Well I ordered a PC copy so I won't be able to play till midnight, but dammit, I was planning to stroke, sniff and generally moon over my PC copy till midnight after receiving that notification.

Anyway, glad to hear that my fellow/sister Dovahkiins are entertained by the store's name...

They would had a bit more respect to called themselves Richard.

You sell computer games to the public, which would includes many immature children, you know they would laugh at you if you called yourself a dike.

This dike Smith is actually quite a big store: http://dikesmith.com.au/dsau/home.jsp

I would not go anywhere near it, imagine carrying your shopping with their bag, there will be no street credit for you.
