The AssassinIllusionist - The Deciever

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 3:56 pm

My character for Skyrim is going to be a class that I like to call "The Deceiver"...yeah it's a little RP but thats what these games are all about right?

He uses deception to gain what he wants, via spell or by tongue. If nothing else works he'll pickpocket and drop some acid on them to die. Basically silent death via Dagger/Poison/Illusion or Misdirection. Uses dagger in offhand (for backstabs) and sword in mainhand.

Here are my skills for this idea of character, feel free to critique.

Skills used

One Handed (8 Perks) - Armsman (5), Dual Flurry (2), Dual Savagery (1)
Illusion - (13 Perks) - ALL
Speech - (13 Perks) - Haggling (5) Allure, Bribery, Merchant, Persuasion, Investor, Intimidation, Fence, Master Trader
Pickpocket - (7 Perks) - Light Fingers (5), Night Thief, Extra pockets
Lockpick - (0 Perks)
Alchemy - (9 Perks) - Alchemist (5), Physician, Poisoner, Concentrated Poison
Sneak - (8 Perks) - Stealth(5), Backstab, Deadly Aim, Assassin's Blade

58 Perks in All (Light Fingers and Alchemist will only have 1 point until post 50...which comes out to 50 Perks)

Any adjustments you'd make for this build? and idea?

OPINIONS!? ONE DAY TILL SKYRIM WOOOO!!!!

I don't have any feedback, just questions.

Why not lockpick a few ranks instead of all those speech?
Can you still slit throats with your dagger if you use a sword in main hand?

Nice build though. I'm very excited about being able to hide mid fight. Since last time some magic guards knew where I was even though they were 2 miles away when I committed a crime.

Nice. I'm working on a build for an assassin/necromancer. The puppeteer. I'll raise the allies of my enemies to fight for me.

I'm going to rely on my lockpicking skills rather than the perks. If I need the perks because lockpicking is too hard then I'll get them.

Of course you can...you backstab with your dagger in your offhand you still get X15 Damage.

Ironically enough my build does not have Shadow Warrior from the sneak tree. He uses illusion and invisibility.

I was thinking of doing this but my next character is probably going to end up being an Altmer Mage after this one...I decided to use Alteration/Destruction/Conjuration/enchanting for that character instead. Still something I mulled over for my assassin though! This one is just more trickery and deception.

You make a valid point with the illusion spell tree. That will replace any hiding abilities. You can still cast invisibility during combat though, so the overall result is the same.

I like the idea of mixing up things. I did this in Oblivion. I'm more of the warrior kinda guy, but I think I'll spice it up with some battle mage-ish stuff.
