Im seriously thinking of creating a targaryen as a character maybe Aegon the Conqueror. They are the true dragonborn this is known.

I thought about this but odds are we will be forced to kill Dragons and not join them which breaks the fantasy for me. Dragons will probably be hard or immpossible to mind control with magic but I'm betting wolves won't...

Those who actually read the books = Win. The series is actually called A Song of Ice and Fire, and A Game of Thrones is a pretty insignificant part of that series.

Yeah. It is known.

I actually watched GoT earlier this week. Tried to save the last episode for tonight - but alas I failed.

Just so.

I'll definitely make a silver-haired Breton with a Targaryen in mind. The day-and-a-half wait for Skyrim is killing me as much as the 5-year wait to see what Dany and that other guy are doing in Winds of Winter.

And A Game of Thrones isn't insignificant. It's the start of everything. And it's also the only book where we pretty much know every secret it held. Oh, how the series has progressed. I remember having tons of predictions of what would happen at the end of GoT, but none of it was right. Except for the fact that the series would kick ass.

It's a noble family in the Song of Ice and Fire series. Start out as the 'bad guys' that were killed off but you start to like them more and more as the series goes on.

Nice to see ASOIAF fans here! Making my first character Rhaegar into a Breton battlemage. The Dragonskin ability fits perfectly. Fire and Blood! :flamethrower:

Afterwards, I'm going to make a Nord based off of one of the Starks, probably Ned or Jon. I look farward to WEREing those characters out. And eventually, I'll make an Argonian named Rhaego.... :hubbahubba:

Valar morghulis.

I'm not sure what's insignificant about it. What do you mean. My only guess is that you mean its insignificant because not much action occurs, its mainly the introduction of the characters? Maybe I'm wrong.

For myself, I'm currently on the 3rd book. I honestly can't remember if I began reading the 1st one before after I began watching the show(I just remember reading the book during the season).

Oh well, I love the books, and the show is really well done. For once I don't feel like a book is "better" than the show/movie.

I read the books and loved the HBO series, but I would never want to roleplay or model my character after one of Martin's characters. Then again I hate emulating anyone.

I wish there were spears so I could make Oberyn Martell, one of the most badass characters in the series.

And Samurai, enjoy it. The third book is ridiculously awesome. Like... absofruitly ridiculously awesome. It's like the first two were building up for how awesome the third one is, then the next two are building up for how awesome the next installment will (hopefully) be.

I feel the same way. I honestly haven't read a book for fun since middle school (I'm 21), and after watching the show I'm reading an entire series of some of the most complex yet compelling literature I could have ever imagined. You will enjoy that third book, but you'll also want to kill GRRM after reading it. Be prepared for things to slow down a bit in Feast; it's still a great read though. I'm currently about 1/4 through Dance, and I'm only slowing down reading it for Skyrim.

I hope you realize that mixing up the elder scrolls universe with GOT is blasphemy?

How so? For completely different fantasy universes, they sure do have a lot of things in common. I think they mesh rather well for RP purposes. How else am I supposed to get anything close to an entertaining ASOIAF fix (that horrible new RTS game doesn't count) until season two comes out?

As soon as the [censored] brother dies, I started to like them, but one can never run from the charm of the Starks.
