Pre Order Edition Confusion

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 3:55 am

Totally confused with this difference in map thing on pre ordered versions ( yes im prepared for flames ).

Im going to a midnight opening at gamestation tonight to collect my pre ordered copy.

So how can I tell the difference between the copy I get and the copy that just gets handed to a guy who has not pre ordered without opening it?

Does my copy have a sticker on the shrink wrap saying pre order version?

Or have the first run of x copies ie stores initial stocks all have the special map?

I just dont want to get home and realise I have just been handed a standard version by mistake so how do I tell?

To any that offer help, thank you.
To any who offer flames, yes I probably deserve them.

All first run copies get the pre-order map bonus.

I was kinda wondering this as well. Just got my copy delivered and wasn't sure if the map inside the box was the premium pre order map or not. The bethblog seemed to suggest there would be 2 maps with pre order copies, the normal paper one that everyone gets and the premium pre order map.

The 'premium' map is not really a pre-order bonus and never should have been advertised as one. If you buy Skyrim day one, hell if you buy it this weekend, you will get the premium map. It is in all initial copies of the game.

Nobody will be getting the premium map AND the standard paper map that will come in later printings of the game in a single copy. It's one or the other, not both.

so let me get this straight, preordered versions come with the 'special material' map, normal non-preordered versions come with just the paper map, CEs come with the dragon figurine, guide and 'special material' map? I really have no idea..

The maps are all the same... There was a huge thread explaining everything, but I can't seem to find it. All I heard was that all the maps are the same and that tons of people got all confused.

No. All initial copies come with the premium map, regardless of edition or if it was pre-ordered or not. The collector's edition also comes with the artbook, status and making of DVD.

Can understand the confusion, especially as some sites are advertising a "cloth map". That's why I came on here to check.
