Last minute midnight-releases, or pre planned ones?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 11:26 am

Just received a phone call from my excited house mate informing me that he'd just been into our local ASDA (Supermarket in the UK, Liverpool in my case) and asked AGAIN about a possible midnight release to which we had always previously been told was not going to happen. However, he was told today that the sheer volume of nerds has become too difficult to ignore and that tonight Skyrim will be released at midnight from the Tobacco counter. This was amazing news until I realised I still have 12 hours to wait! (GMT) Has anyone else had similar experiences? Midnight releases seem to be thin on the ground, only official ones I've seen are in Flagship stores in London and Birmingham. Who's picking it up at midnight?

My local GameStops are pretty cool, they always do Mid-night releases for all high-rate games. So nah, I'll be going in tonight if possible. Although sad part. I don't know if I can make it. I got a few special customers today that I haft to do a good 3+ hours Tattoo on, so.. I may be doing over time. But after today, I'v scheduled the next week off! :D
