Map for Steam users?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 7:06 pm

The DVD comes with a paper map I assume. But will those who order the game on Steam receive a digital version of the game map?
Sorry if this has been asked. Did a search.

EDIT: Sorry, nevermind. I just realised that this will probably be the ingame map. Silly me.

The game comes with an in-game map ;-)

I haven't seen anything about a digital version of the paper map. But you can find one on the internet right now.

Yes there is one- inside the game :D

Edit- really must read previous posts to avoid being

On my behalf I can add that this map is even better than cloth map- it is 3D

Maybe they have like scanned the paper map onto a .pdf and included it in the files for printing.

If not I can maybe send you one.

Most likely no, but you should be able to find a hi-res scan of the physical map floating around before too long.

Nah steam will milk you. On the bright side if the servers aren't chugged you can play really really early and play all night long till you drop. Tho by then I'll be up with FedEx on the door and having my disk/map/book/pretty box as trophy for years to come as I have my bookcase of games in the computer room. Then I'll catch up to ya by the time you wake up again =P

Not exactly sure what you mean here, but you have to install Steam even if you buy the DVD. All installs are the same, as it says in the FAQ.
But I think I'll do as you and get the DVD. It's good to have something physical. :)

EDIT: And I also do believe that there is a lock on Steam that prevents you from playing until it has actually been released. That goes for the DVD as well obviously, since you need Steam to install.

Just talking about where you buy it from:

$60 steam: early unlock

$60 Amazon: game box/map/ cd/ arrives 11/11/11 ussualy morning and just play.

about the steam use, doesn't matter, pricing does. So in other words lose items for a few hours earlier of play for more $$ at the end. Not a good deal to me, just for the impatient one.

If steam wasnt such a money hungry mofo and woudl just sell the boxes and let people early "preload" and play release date from the account now that would be nice! CD-less boxes I could care a crap, but give me something physical!

Maybe I'm too old school and don't aprove of this digital copy crap. I did it for two worlds and regret it.

edit: meant two worlds 2, oh yeah and I'm trying to tell myself you want a PHYSICAL MAP not a digital map untop of the digital map in game lol.... =/

Hey there has anyone done a new scan of the actual english map yet? The russian translated one has been floating around forever, but has anyone scanned in the english one? I bought the steam version and I want one to use as the background on my second monitor while I play, the russian one is passable, but I would have thought someone would have put up a new one by now.
