Other then PCSteam, the street date seems largely broken

Nowhere in the UK has broken street date, except UK Amazon users mostly, just seems the US cant keep things under wraps..

Well it really only takes one store to break release to cause everyone else to have to break it. I know that's what happened in Aus at least


This. 100% .. I used to work for EB games. Frist sign that somone else broke Street Date ... DMs would call .. SELL SELL SELL!

add something like steam to xbox and ps3

release date is 100% secure + no leaked versions etc.

The infrastructure is already in place for Xbox, I can buy and download Oblivion or Fallout New Vegas right now.

Give it five or ten years and I doubt games will be distributed on physical media at all...

ShopTo.net have also broken the "street date", as I have a copy of the game beside me right now. I can't much see the point of having the game early if I can't even install it ahead of Steam's "unlock" date, though (and yet they are giving me the option of downloading it in advance? Crazy...).
