a bit worried about skyrim

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 1:00 am

Ok so I checked IGN review and apparently after 75 hours of game-play , the reviewer reached 40 and has done most of the quests apparently. This actually worries me a bit since that seems a bit fast .He also explored many locations so is anyone else that shares my concerns?

You don't have to worry about this, trust me, as you will NOT have the same experience and quick way of playing I assure you. Just get the game, play slowly as you like, don't play too quickly and enjoy every single bit of your purchase.

Also: Skyrim will give you infinite auto generated quests.

No, because it's not true.
How on Earth does he know he's done most of the quest lines? I think at best it's most of the ones he's found.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, reviews these days are useless.

First if you rush the whole story, doing quest afters quests.... yeah it won't last long.
No i can tell you that after 20 hours of gameplay i haven't set a foot further than whiterun.

Don't worry and enjoy the game ;)

Well that's what he said,I'm not saying it's true.As for the game I'll only get it tomorrow since here in Canada,Quebec, gamestop actually respect the date :D, so that's why I was wondering.I played oblivion many times and I always found more stuff to do so hoping skyrim will be the same

Not me. Game comes out tomorrow/tonight and most of these reviewers are idiots who rush the game. Forget reviews, I'm playing it tomorrow!

I suggest reading other reviews. This one (IGN), in particular, seems to be opposite of most other reviewers experience.

Yeah I'm wondering also now since I read IGN where the guy is lvl 40,and a few more reviews where they barely reached some areas and found secrets.I think that guy just rushed most quests and focused on walking as much as possible.I don't think he actually explored all, since it would seem too crazy.

You can complete most modern games main campaign in under 4 hours and that's taking your time. End of discussion.

well, there was a dev competition where the winner did the storyline in something like 3 hours.

75 hours seems about right for a regular player intent on completing the scripted story line.

But there is that 'infinite quest' system based on your unique progress in the game, so im sure it will last much longer for some.

Anyway, after all, its only a single player game... eventually I will want to go back to games that I can play with friends, there is only so much entertainment AI challenge can be... so 75 hours for me sounds just about right. I dont expect to be playing it for years like an mmo :P

The reviewer powered his way through the main quest-line, I seriously doubt he did everything. In fact, I know he didn't, because then the review would never have been finished.

You should be thankful, most other games released this era have campaigns shorter than how many hours I sleep.

Yeh, it was nothing against you. :) I'm just highly confident this guy doing the review is an idiot - nothing related to you.

It's his job to complete as much of the game as possible. Do you think he's been exploring, leveling up alchemy, finding all the recipes for cooking? No, he's been fast travelling his butt off trying to finish the game as quickly as possible, and at 75 hours, still hasn't done that.

Not that I know I feel bad for reviewers. They have to rush as fast as possible then restart again so they can actually enjoy the game the 2nd time.

When did Charles Onyett say anything like that?

No wonder people hate IGN so much. People falsely attribute words to them and then everybody pats themselves on the back about how "IGNorant" they are. Nobody bothers to see if he actually said that.

Beginning @ 0:27 "Even after over 100 hours of play, you'll still uncover quests and items and characters that lead to undiscovered territory, and unexpected results."

He NEVER says he exhausted the quests in 75 hours.

To be honest - 75 hours sounds about right.

Oblivion including Shivering Isles took me around 85 hours to do everything

Regular Oblivion without Shivering Isles probably around 60 to do everything

So 75 hours is pretty damn impressive if you ask me.
