They carried on bug testing after the game went gold. The day one patch fixes anything they found.

i honestly don't get why you'd bother to start a thread like this...who cares? just play the game...obviously they have their reasons to make a small day 1 patch, probably to fix some stuff that could potentially stop you from finishing some quests etc...

well you better get xbox live...coz rpg games = patches coz they will always contain lots of bugs...

i can't get it. and the only RPG that has had major problems that i played was Fallout NV

well the thing is, a rpg with no major problems have hundreds of bugs. look at oblivion.. that game is perfectly playable yet the modding guys released unofficial patches which contained hundreds of fixes on top of the official fixes...

i realise that. there was one quest that i glitched to [censored] but oh well. it wasent important anyway.

Is it a connection problem?You dont need a gold membership or anything.You can get patches with a free account.The guy above is right though.Most RPGs get patched

yeah that and i can't really afford anything other then games and stuff. i support my parents and they get most of my pay check whatever i get to keep i spend on games or save up to go on a date or something. plus i live in the deep, deep woods so my connection svcks too

if i looked at the Skyrim map it would be a map of my house.

You don't need Xbox live gold to download the patch it will come if you xbox is just hooked up to the internet.

No need to sign up for live, at least that has been my experience since i never had Xbox live and have downloaded many patches for various games.

So yea see if you can get the cable to hook up the Xbox to the internet and you should be fine.

There are obviously bugs that the Day 1 Patch did not address.

With MILLIONS of people playing the game today and tomorrow for the first time, bugs will surface that they didn't know about because you can't find a lot of bugs with a small, internal testing group.

The real bug discovery begins on 11-11-11.

Hopefully, patches will follow next week to address some of the more serious ones immediately.

You can go to Microsoft and download the patch for the 360 via the Xbox site, through your pc if you prefer not to use xbox live. We've done it.
While we are fans of BSGF, we dislike bugs, and have found that game play is more enjoyable if we just wait for the GOTY.

Fallout 3 and NV were so buggy my husband invented new curse terms. It's a good thing our kids are in their late teens.

I still don't see why you can't create a free xbox live silver account just to get the patch, all it requires is plugging an Ethernet cable into your Xbox 360, I assume you have internet as you are on it right now, if not, all you need to do is find someone with internet and 1 outlet and you can install the patch.

If you encounter serious problems with the game then its best to just pain through the bad connection and download the patch.
