Main character speak?

Is the person you use speak at all in dialog?

I know they speak when they dragon shout but It would be so much better if they actually talked with other characters in the world.

That would be disgusting.

If my character spoke and did not sound like a bitter old chain smoker, I'd be sad.

Why would you want the main character to speak?

The main reason they don't have main character voice acting mate is because of the amount of time it would take to create seperate reactions to each dialogue in the game, depending on the race you choose, and the sixuality. Also, because it's such a serious RPG and we're given the chance to make whoever we want, some people's character's voice might not be to their liking, see?

What about when the MC does a dragon shout? Is it in subtitles? Does it ruin the game for you if it isn't the voice you imagined it to be? :P

Seriously though, in a "build your own character" RPG like Skyrim, most players don't want a specific voice attached to it, because they are either RPing themselves have a specific RP theme attached to it.

IMHO, if the character is predefined however, then it's better if the dialog is voiced...

The reason the PC isn't voiced is because they would need at least 20 (one for each race/gender combo) voice actors voicing each and every line from the PC. Not to mention the fact that many players wouldn't want their characters sounding like the voice actor for their race/gender.

And, about dragon shouts: I don't know about you, but me and my friends sound a lot a like when we scream gibberish at the top of our lungs.

If you could choose any voice actor for your desired character, who would you pick?

Hmmmmm...

Sylvester Stalone, hands down.

Everybody I talk to would be trying to figure out what the [censored] I'm saying the entire game.

We had a thread on this yesterday. An overwhelming 'no'.
