Click, click, click...

So I got home and put my Skyrim disc in the drive, eagerly anticipating installing the game. Instead, I'm greeted with NO autorun, just a repeated clicking noise. I take the disc out, saying "no no no" in disbelief. I look at it. I put it back in. Click, click, click. I take it out. I wipe it off, back in it goes and click, click, click. I leave it be while I power up my stepmother's computer - not powerful enough to run the game, but it has a DVD-ROM - I can work with that, at least to see if the disc is OK. As the computer boots up, I'm still hearing click, click, click... then vroom! I look over, and NOW it's working. It's installing as I write this.

Scared me for a minute there!

What was your initial experience like installing the game? Did you run into problems like I did? Discuss.

Nope, not installing, but I ran into freezing during gameplay and some other minor issues. I disabled all saves and save manually and it hasn't froze up. I have been playing for hours and nothing. Previously it froze up within 30mins of gameplay.
Then my other problem was the PC controls, So I went out and bought a Xbox wired controller.
Then my next issue was random FPS drops, then I found out there was a new driver just uploaded today. Installed and now everything seems to be okie dokie.
