Skyrim clutter

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 1:49 am

So I've been playing Skyrim and it simply feels empty. There's nothing in Skyrim, nothing at all.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of monsters and quests, but there is none of the clutter that gives TES its atmospheric and realistic mood. No forks, no knives, no brooms, no yarn, no nothing. Just empty hallways and monsters.

Along with PC problems that don't seem to have been fixed after the port from the consoles such as that if you try to re-assign your keybinds you can no longer use the favorites system, there are quite a few problems with Skyrim that give me the feeling Bethesda couldn't make the 11.11.11 deadline and just went with it anyway not to lose face, but to me having no items in the game that serve everyday purposes is a even bigger case of Bethesda losing face against a task they simply couldn't manage in such a short time so I ask if the clutter will be added in later this year or early next year ?

And how do the rest of you feel about the lack of clutter ?

Name one, I still haven't seen a single bit of clutter so...

Went through a dungeon and the only thing I found was a bunch of cloth that I suspect will be used in crafting. No real clutter though.

Strange, you're finding clutter too ? Like clutter you can hover your cursor over so you see the name of it and that you can put in your inventory ? Clutter that is not torches and books and items for crafting ? I may have to take another look but I did a search and didn't find any.

Ehhh...I like less clutter personally. In Oblivion I hated opening up a crate and finding...tongs...or scissors. From the screenshots I have seen (yeah, don't have the game yet else I wouldn't be here), it looks just right. A fair amount of stuff I will never touch to add to the atmosphere but nothing too detracting.

This is pretty disappointing to hear. Forks, knives, cups, tongs, bellows, etc. should have been included.

Seriously?

Perhaps, and I hate to bring this up because I consider it more Bethesda's and/or unrealistic, graphically demanding consumers' fault than the fault of either platform, this is part of the "optimization" Bethesda have done for the 360 and/or PS3 to be able to handle further graphical loads (less physics-based objects to be discerned as separate models at any given time = faster rendering speed)?

Bethesda removed utensils from the game, inhabitants are forced to eat with their hands. Disgusting.

this is ridiculous. I don't have the game but I remember seeing the Jason Statham guy in one of the trailers with a giant slab of meat on a plate with no utensils. I laughed because I thought it was supposed to be part of this character's character.

Havn't you read the "The Guide to Skyrim"? They can't actually read. :)

I notice now that there actually is clutter around, it's just so much rarer than in the last two games I almost thought there was none in the game at all. I spoke with too much haste.
