Here's a nutty fact for you. This was a blow at the other topic stating they were ugly. Which mods didn't close.

From the trailers and SKYRIM Gamespot Marathon today Bethesda did a truly magnificent job on the faces and from what i've seen of the bodies thus far. Real happy to see the Argonians looking nightmarish with a very inhuman presence about them. Its gonna be tough choosing which race to play considering how great they all look. Its gonna be a jaw dropping joy filled weekend indeed.

+111111, see what I did there? But yeah, I think people complain just because they can. Character creator is fine!

"Lore friendly"? Why do I always get the impression that "lore friendly" is a fan-created term meant to senselessly give credit to one's opinion as being "correct" even if it has absolutely nothing to do with lore? Lore has become a joke term people don't understand but pretend they do to discredit what they don't like. Plus, as I'm sure this thread is a direct response to complaints about ugliness, looking "rough and harsh", in your own words, doesn't seem to help much. Not every person that's ever stepped into a cold environment looks "rough and harsh" because of it. The two really have little correlation.

Well, it is lore friendly. Would anime chicks riding godzillas float your boat? Would Sonic make a good Jarl of Whiterun? I dont think so. Because it would be 'lore-unfriendly'
I do know that not every person who stepped into Skyrim would be harsh, but you have to admit most of the people would, and not everyone is dirty. It's not 2011 hollywood we're talking about.

Stepping into SKYRIM (Harsh, cold, unforgiving) from MORROWIND (also a harsh landscape) and was held PRISONER. Yeah...I say let us make perfect Barbie and Ken doll figures.

Its not about a "cold environment". Its about the feel of the game intended by Bethesda. They have said numerous times they want Skyrim to feel brutal and rugged. Also, I'm pretty sure the folks at Bethesda are more entitled to establish lore than any of us are. Anyway, I'm not going to argue with you since considering every post I've seen you make about Skyrim, its clear that you are dead set on being miserable about everything the game has to offer.

I like Skyrim. I like the character creator. I will play it for many, many hours. And then, I will play it again with a new character, using the character creator. :D

Seriously, I forgot once the game released that Skyrim forums would become a whine-fest. Obviously, this thread was meant to compliment the creation system, but someone has to come in and be a buzzkill, a ruiner of fun. Lame.

I hope everyone is enjoying themselves. Great Game.

That's the problem. Bethesda never established any lore to validate well over half of "lore friendly" claims... hence why I'm sure it's just made up. Lore has no bearing on this part of Skyrim. In any case, I have no idea what you're talking about, but I'm simply insulted by your claims about Skyrim. Where are you getting your ideas of my ideas about Skyrim from? Where do you get the audacity to even dare to claim to have an obstinate clue about what I think of Skyrim? I'd appreciate it if you kept your thoughts of what I think about Skyrim away from my actual thoughts on Skyrim because you're unarguably wrong on that front. To think that my attitude on not attacking any opinion that isn't praising a certain few features of the game makes you believe you can dismiss me so easily as to label me a person making a game from a series I've long been a fan of and played the entirety of to be miserable in my mind strikes at the very core of insult and I'm not even sure how to describe it other than disappointing and hurtful... twisting, off-the-mark, overly presumptuous, insulting, and a complete contradiction to my very existence on these forums almost consistently for over the past two years. Not even the greatest of concepts, events, experiences, and objects are without flaw nor should we ever be so content as to let our guard down and never criticize.

Such a thing would be the surefire death of consumerism, not an ideal utopia. Instead of looking at the good I've posted about Skyrim, instead of anolyzing why I'm even here, instead of actually seeing what I post and why I might post it instead of simply generalizing and seeing things in black and white, and instead of anolyzing or perhaps thinking of anything more about me other than your one-sided misconception of me as some shallow character with no purpose, you jump to some rash, hasty assumption of me based on a general, outlined position a few of my posts come across to you as. I've never done such a thing to you, never been so hasty to a conclusion, and have never forced a perception of you based on extremely limited and selective thoughts on some of your posts, so why?

Lore should not destroy a persons ability to make a character they want to make

its not like my attractive nord is going to ruin all the other players game in a SINGLE PLAYER game

Forcing everyone to have disgustingly ugly characters is just wrong.
