Quick Steam Skyrim Patch Question

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 3:44 pm

Hi all,
I activated Skyrim via Steam this morning. I saw it going through the decryption process then left my PC for a while. When I came back it was finished and ready to play. However, I didn't notice it download and install the day 1 patch (and I wasn't gone for very long). Can I assume that Steam downloaded and installed the patch? If not, how do I get it? Never used Steam before yesterday.
Many thanks,
Ben
ps. I would have asked over at the Steam forum but obviously it's down atm.

Steam automatically installs the patch by default. The day 1 patch is probably for the people who install by discs. Steam may have already included it in your original pre-load.

Right click Skyrim in the Steam library, select properties, then local files, and finally click "verify integrity of game cache".

This will download any patches that are available. If it doesn't download anything, you most likely already have the patch.
