[PC USERS] Shadows are the biggest culprit, FPS-wise

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 5:22 am

I was getting around 25-30 FPS on Ultra. I lowered shadows to Low while keeping everything else the same, and am now getting 70-90 FPS.

Hope this helps. Shadows are broken anyway ATM, so I can't see anyone getting torn up about this.

Nothing suprising about this, shadows where always power hungry.

My shadows are on low and I get 12 FPS on low settings. I'd hate to see my FPS with better shadows on.

What did you do to see your FPS?

Absolutely agree. This is for all games.

Might give this a try, on Ultra settings at 1080p I was only getting fps in the low 30's with Crossfire 6870's and an i5 2500K. Probably needs a new CAP from AMD to boost crossfire performance.

Is there anyway to turn them off completely? I hate shadows in games.
