Being Imperial feels...weird

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 2:35 pm

Hey guys, been playing for 1 hour now, not so much I know but I can't help but feel hated already in this game. I play as an Imperial (half-nord, half-imperial in my own backstory) and just arrived in Riverwood and I've been hearing a lot from what I've played that "oooh the IMPERIALS are so bad and bla bla bla".

This may be true in a sense that it is imperial legions hailing from Cyrodiil and torturing the poor Nords. This view I have might be biased since I've just been in a Nord-dominant village and I really hope to confront a more blended cultural/race beyond.

All I wanna say is, I feel misplaced in the world, like it's not home (didn't Todd say that that's the feeling he was aiming for?) and it's a really annoying feeling I got that every Nord hates my guts even though they're kind, they whisper behind my back, me being Imperial and all... :(

Join the Legion then.

It is even better if you are hated: becoming their greatest hero will feel sweeter later on ;)

Being a stranger in a strange land of people you formerly ruled over feels weird.

Sec, calling the press.

Well if your a Nord and your part of the Imperial legion your kind of betraying your people. The stormcloaks are Nord rebels that are fighting for their freedom so your situation should be expected. Stormcloaks are the way to go if you don't want this to happen and you want to be a Nord.

EDIT: Its kind of like Benedict Arnold...
Anyways its good to know these features are in the game (I'm getting mine in 2hrs I'm about to explode in exitement).

Kind of reminds me of traditional fantasy half-elves, where they often feel unwanted by both sides but ultimately the humans are more accepting. Nords in Skyrim must care about the pure blood. (You should change to more resemble your Nordic half if it really bothers you though).

there's an easy solution to your problem, but since you're imperial scum I'm not going to tell.

Best regards

I'm playing an Imperial and I don't feel weird at all!
I think the nords get along with the imperial race just fine.
