I was hoping it didn't have to come to creating a thread, but I searched and asked and nobody is responding to this general question i've asked in other posts/threads.

What is the verdict with playing off the disc vs. installing to the HDD and playing off that? Did this day one patch fix the low res issue?

This was all the talk in this forum and other sites for the past two days and now nobody seems to have and answer.

Im not going to download skyrim to the harddrive until i find out whats going on, because if you delete the game from the HDD/Harddrive it wipes achievements.. atleast for my 360..

How big is the patch?

I heard the patch was causing problems with the PS3 loading up the game and automatically dying without even creating a character.
