UGH LOCKPICKING

I found it to be almost identical to the FO games but a little more sensitive. I could see where you might have trouble, but just take it slow and you should be fine.

man, people must think i'm hella-dumb if I tried 30 times and the advice i'm being given is 'slow down'
I was asking if there was a trick like how in oblivion you could do it with your eyes closed based purely on sound (easiest thing in the world, idk why people b!7#* about it all the time)
I'm fine with this style picking, I'd put money on it being my skill level being too low in lockpicking. not like I picked a race that's good at it -_- lol hindsight is 20/20

It's actually encouraging to me that a low skill thief can't easily pick a Master Lock through knowledge of the metagame. I'm sure you'll get there with some practice.

The harder the get the less room you have to actually pick the lock.

Saying the lock is 360 degrees. A novice lock would give you 20% good area. Meaning if you were within that 20% you can pick the lock and open the door or whatever it is.

A expert lock might have like a 2% good area. It's just harder to find and you have to probe a little more to find that smaller spot.

Be gentle is all I can say

This ^^.

Lock picks seem to be a lot more delicate than in FO and FO:NV. Until you decide you want to invest in the lockpick skill tree that is.
