Hello guys, I just purchased my first TES game(loving it), but I'm having trouble killing/staying alive. So far I have went to Bleak Falls Barrow and almost died. The only reason i lived is because off all my health potions. The main weapons I use are:

Steel Sword/Default Fire Spell


I also have Iron Armor, and an Iron Helmet. I want to use Destruction and Steel Sword on my character and a bit of dual wielding swords. Would this be effective on my Nord? I'll also be rocking heavy armor. I also realized that I won't be taking restoration so I'm going to put a few perks in Alchemy so I can make a ton of potions. Will this be good?

Also, what has everyone been doing in Riverwood? I heard about people being there for hours? Doing what? I'm level 4 and am starting the Main Quest right after Bleak Falls Barrow already.

Sounds like you might be able to fall back on dual-blasting people with magic, judging by all the "nerf da magez" threads. I will probably only try this if I run into a really tough spot like you're in right now.

Cool. I might do that. I just found a shield. I'll switch betweem:

Shield/Sword
Sword/Sword
Flames/Sword

I found bleak falls easy until I hit the draughs. I left and met the jarl etc, an came back for the related quest, at level five, and smoked the draughs. You were probably like me and eight on the edge of owning them. Btw this is on master diffuculty.

Shield Sword combination is very effective, you can just stagger people with your shield and finish them with a sword
