I'm trying to figure out how the hell this menu works. So, I'm only level 2. I've just started the game. I'm on a PC. Here's what's going on:
I unlocked the dual casting perk. I tried to equip the flame spell to both hands from only being on L. No go. Pressing the left mouse button didn't do anything, and the right mouse button only unequipped and equipped it. So I figured, that's weird, it's just not replacing the sword I have equipped. So I unequipped the sword and tried again. Success, pressing some combination of mouse 1 and mouse 2 I managed to get "LR" to pop up, which I assumed meant it was on both hands. Cool. I played around like that for a bit before realizing that it's hard to kill [censored] this way. So I tried to switch back to having a sword in my right hand...
I found that going into the magic menu I learn that while I could remove the "LR" and replace it with only "R", I could not get it to be exclusively "L" This means that I would have my sword in my left hand, and magic in my right. I can't even replace the "R" fire spell with a healing spell, or shock. It's stuck there. I cannot replace fire from "R" with something else.
No amount of fiddling deliberately or clicking like a spaz will undo this. I had to revert to an earlier save just to get away from that. And that's cool. But the bug recurs whenever I try to set up dual casting. So in other words, I cannot dual cast without locking the fire spell to R.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this game just bugged? also the menu in this game is super confusing. Very console-like. I don't see why they couldn't put all of these menus on the same screen. There's plenty of room.
