Few questions about interface

Unable to get game for a few days...have a few questions about the ui that i was worried about. If anyone could answer that would be great.

1. I was told we would be able to turn the compass/quest markers off...is this true? hoping true

2. Is there enough dialogue given by quest givers to find your destination without being forced to follow the compass/questmarkers? hoping yes

3. On the compass does it display enemy locations/locations of nearby caves/dungeons....does it point you to things like that? hoping no

4. I was worried the scrolling text ui would be bad...i much preferred morrowinds method of showing everything on the screen at once giving you great freedom with mouse kb combo. (i want this to be false but just looking at main page i see lots of ui hate)

1. Compass can be turned "off", you just set the transparancy to 0. Quest markers can be 'toggled' by unselecting quests.
2. From what I've seen so far: yes. For instance an NPC walks you out of town and points you to the road you should follow.
3. It does. (Enemies only if in combat with them)
4. Not sure what you mean, sorry.

Thanks for the reply....that sounds great for the most part...especially the turning off of the compass/markers! So youre telling me that if the quest destination is way out in the wilderness...the quest givers provide enough info...like landmarkers and stuff...to find it on my own without help from markers/compass?

Also we were told the pc ui would be unique and generally better for pc's...did that end up happening?

Well I wont go into spoilers in the general discussion but will give you a general idea from what I've seen so far. (haven't done that many quests though, mostly explored.) It's not as detailed as Morrowind though, sadly.
A really simple example is Bleak Falls Barrow and its related quest.
You get enough information to reach it, but it's not as detailed and perfectly described as in Morrowind.
However I do believe another quest gave me no directions whatsoever besides just "adventuring".

PC UI is far from perfect. Your inventory is pretty tricky to navigate and for some unfortunately people it screws with their mouse or something, not quite sure of that.
All in all it's playable just fine, but I personally expected better from Bethesda.
But just give it an hour to get used to and it's all good.

The zero dialogue describing quest details is something i was worried about...but if for the most part we are given good instructions, sounds good. Thanks again.

My question about the interface is: when will it actually work?
