Ive thinking of saving up the 5000, to get teh place in White Run, is it worth it? is their a better cheaper place i can get early in the game?

The cheapest I saw and found was in windHelm for 1,000 gold.. But don't know what It looks like Could be like the house near the Imperial place in oblivion.. I can't comment on it because I haven't bought it yet..
