Quick Question to those who might know ..

I just joined the Companions, and I was wondering if I can use it's storage containers without losing my stuff in the Companions building since I am a member now. I know in the help section it says to buy a house and not store in containers that are not your own. Well I know in Oblivion when joining the fighters guild, you could store items and not worry about losing anything. Can I do this with Skyrim? I am a member now of the Companions so the place is technically shared "owned".

Do anyone know if it is safe to store items in the containers in the guilds chest and cabinets etc..once you joined them?

General rule of thumb for the TES games, do not place items that you intend to keep in containers that have once already contained items. They respawn, deleting the contents that are already inside them... eventually.

So if the container is empty, I should be ok?

Not necessarily. Try putting something cheap in there and then coming back a few days later, if it's still there then you should be good to go.

I'd just recommend against it. Just store your items in your companion until you can afford a home to put them in. (5000g)

It adds a nice roleplaying element that you have to have a home to store your items anyway! ;-)

EDIT: I have 45 pounds of dragon loot that I wont sell or risk in a public container, so I'm saving up for a home and bringing a companion to help with my loot until then.
