so i was doing the greybeard quest to get the horn and found the note. Made my way out of Ustengrav and fast tracked to Riverwood, when i arrived i was greeted with a not so friendly welcome.. all the guards and npc's just rushed me. So i left and went to Whiterun and the guards did nothing until i entered Dragonsreach and everyone in there attacked me for no apparent reason. Iv broken no laws except opening a locked door at the stables and going inside then leaving, a guard ran to me but i told him i was thane and he let me be. I'v tried yielding to them by sheathing me weapon but they just continue attacking me. I dont know what iv done.. becuase iv done nothing bad. The only thing that i can think of is when i was on my way to Dragonsreach i heard a guard say Jarl was killed by a dragonsborn shout.

i cant continue my progress because the npc i need to talk to in the sleeping giant inn wants to kill me and wont stop even when i sheath.

any help would be appreciated.

I was just going to post a topic on this. Same issue, different place. Doing the bit where you bring the dragon stone back from Bleak Falls and all of Riverwood and two random NPCs in Whiterun (my luck, they're both invulnerable) are trying to kill me and I can't complete the quest without being massacred. I've found a few other annoying glitches, but this is game breaking and doesn't fix by returning to dashboard and rebooting or save/reload. I'm level 7 and I just get destroyed.

when i was in riverwood i killed a chicken and the whole place went hostile even the guy you help at the beginning

I've done a few crimes but nothing I didn't pay off or do time for and nothing as bad as murder. I killed a couple chickens and got away with it, stole a few things and beat up a lady. And it's only after this quest that it's doing it and I can't figure out why. Didn't do it before.
