We can't block?

I really wish they would have allowed ANY TYPE of blocking ability with dual-wielding or 1H + Spell. Otherwise you're supposed to just take the hits? Feels weird? I would have gladly accepted a weaker block with a penalty...

If you time it right you can dodge most attacks then swoop in for a slash or 2 before you have to back off again. Its how i took down a frost troll.

If your going for duel wield or magic, you are meant to dodge attacks, you can actually counter some attacks with weapons if you time it right but to flat out block, yes you need a shield or 2hander. Duel wielders and mages aren't meant to be big strong blow blockers, they are meant to be quick and nimble

It was quite realistic when I blocked battle-axes with my bare forearms in Oblivion. It was an ecstasy of realistic gameplay

They have allowed blocking?

You must not be getting the weapon to block correctly.

If you have a 2 handed all you do is press the block button and you can see that your about to block an attack.

I havent tried this with a 1 handed, but it seems more realistic if you couldnt. I mean think about it, someone charging you with a two handed sledge hammer, your not going to be able to block it with a dagger.
