Let's give it some love!

I have an idea. Really. Let's annoy all the flamers and the "Skyrim's a console port" crowd by making a big ol' list of everything we positvely love about Skyrim.

Things I positively love:

- the soundtrack - best game soundtrack since Morrowind.
- Khajjjiittts! They look like Khajjjiitites now!
- Watching my Khajiit carve up a bandit with an axe in one hand and steel sword in the other.
- beautiful scenery.
- How even on low graphics settings, the game looks great - and I get between 25-45 FPS.
- Best beginning to a TES game EVER!!!! (And I've played Morrowind and Oblivion).
- Radient Quests!

C'mon, let's give the game some LOVE!!!!

Skyrim, from all I've seen, is amazing! Well done, Beth :foodndrink: The whole thing is one living, breathing work of art and was well worth the wait.

Needed a bit of tweaking for performance on my end, but I got there. A good 30-60fps for me, looks stunning and the story is great. To be honest, I've not found one thing I want to change as of yet, which might make modding the thing a bit difficult

Yeah because those who have voiced complaints haven't been flamed. Please don't troll people who are more concerned about a game than you. Feedback is necessary in a consumer-industry. Don't know why that keeps hurting people's feelings. We say something is not up to par and all of the sudden were raging flamers who absolutely hate the game.

Really paints a strong picture of your argument.

Three hours in for me.

I have a fairly good PC. I did see a dropped frame in those three hours, just one time. I had the 'blue outline' problem (ATI card) but I fixed it with settings in the launcher

It looks fantastic. I'm also having no UI issues. Maybe I'm somebody that adapts and learns fast or something?

The spiders creeped me out. I loved it.

I watched salmon swim up some falls for a while. I saw ants marching across a stump. The water effect in rivers and streams is nice, and the lake I saw was pretty good. The way the colors of the water transition is quite good. I saw bloody slashes on a bandit's shoulder right where I slashed her

I first saw Whiterun from the Farm side as I came over the hills and it was, finally, a town in a TES game that looked real and like somebody built it over time, and had agriculture supporting it...it looked pretty convincing. I just looked at it for a few minutes, from about an 1/8 of a mile away. And then it rained. And the rain effect was convincing too.

And then the town itself makes sense, and the Jarl's keep is worthy of his station and feels right

In fact, I think on feeling and atmosphere alone, Beth hit a home run

This is getting ridiculous. The constant low blows to people who are providing customer feedback has become meme-worthy. It's a great commentary.

Okay, that's fair. But have you read the some of the posts attacking people for liking the game? Were you online last night when someone bascially called people "stupid [censored]" becasue they said they liked the game?

If all your doing is providing "criticism" then go to it. But people complaining because "it's the worst game ever!" because - God forbid, Bethesda changed the UI from Oblivion to Skyrim - are every bit as annoying to me as threads like this might be annoying to you. (And it's not like Bethesda didn't show the UI months ago).

Yes, you're right. The grief comes from both sides. I just don't know why that even sociable and intelligent people feed the flames. I have not seen one level-headed critic with a fair anolysis of the game not get trolled. It's starting to scare me away. I've been told Bethesda doesn't encourage it but the constant scorning, taunting, and otherwise all other manners of incivility have just made me lose complete faith in the fan community here. I hate telling myself I've been frazzled, but I've been frazzled.

The fan community is a reflection on Bethesda, too. I just don't understand why it's so rampant when Bethesda clearly doesn't support the alienation of critiquing fans.
