I pre-ordered a PC copy of Skyrim and when I went to pick up the game at GameStop I was told that they didn't get enough copies for the PC version from Bethesda and that it was the same for all GameStops in my city and other places in the country.
Now, I was really looking forward to getting the game in a physical copy since I don't have a great internet connection and downloading it would take to long and be a poor choice, so unreliable for me and it's nice to have a physical copy just in case. And I was looking forward to getting that map that comes with it for everyone who did pre-order.
My question to you guys is what is planned to compensate people like me who want a physical copy but were not able to get it on the day of release because your company did not send enough copies to GameStop and other game retailers? Will those of us who couldn't get the game be upgraded to collectors edition for no charge? Will you fully refund our purchase so when we go to pick up the game we essentially get it for free? Get it partially paid? What? As I said, I can't download a digital copy due to a poor internet connection and so giving me a code to download it would not be adequate for me at all.
I know that sometimes these kind of things happen if the game's going to be big, but generally the pre-orders are always at least met since the numbers of sales were known well in advanced.
So, I ask you, what form of compensation will we be getting for wasting our time and money (gas) to go try and pick up a game we couldn't due to your company not sending enough to retailers for PC? And the fact we couldn't even get the game when it was promised us through the pre-order deal which you have a deal with GameStop for. And why did this fiasco even happen? Were you trying to push more digital sales?
Or, am I actually mistaken and this was an error on GameStop's part (as it is possible they lied to cover themselves) and who can I contact so I can look to get compensated for my waste of time, gas/money, and not getting what was promised to me at the date it was promised.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan and look forward to playing Skyrim if this little problem is handled correctly. You guys haven't let me down in the past, please don't let me down now.
- Sincerely,
The God Emperor
If anyone else went to get a physical copy of the game and didn't get it, please let your voices be known here.
Edit: Also it seems we got a console port for the PC? come on guys... don't do this.
