Going pure mage is incredibly fun and rewarding

Started out first character mainly going 1h sword and shield with some archery which was great, but I made a new character and just went pure mage and OMG is it fun. Upgrading the dual casting destruction with fire is just complete ownage. Love it.

Anyone else going pure mage or maybe making a necromancer?

I'm up to level 11 on a pure mage. Took +magicka on every level up. Fun times.

Just got my game/guide tonight. There should be a class or something on skill/perks lol. Awesome and nicely done from what I've been reading.

But, yeah I'm going pure mage on my first character, and probably thief/archer on the second. After that, I don't know. I've never played a warrior-type character, but maybe this time I will since I did manage a rogue in Rift recently and enjoyed it.

I'm having a lot of fun switching between combat styles. I think I'm enjoying spell and sword most right now.

It's hard being a low level mage.. I'm doing the mages guild quest and dieing quite a bit.. But still fun just can't wait until I hit a higher level with my mage.. i know it will get easier having a hard time at the moment..

Good to hear! I love mages in games, and I heard the magic in this game is extremely well done. Im def. gonna go for mage overall. Hence im probably gonna pick High elf. Good to hear its rewarding and fun. The melee seemed a bit bland with the reactions but also fun, but less than I'd imagine magic being for me.

No problems with taking damage/health? I figured without a shield or blocking it would be hard to survive tougher enemies. Especially before mana regen stuff else you can just heal

Even low level mages are good? I guess that speaks volumes for how good a level 50+ mage would be!

I usually play Thief or Assassin type character, but decided to go with a Spellsword. I use about 80% magic, and only use my sword when enemies get too close. So far I must say, it's been a lot of fun.

just to not scare anyone off from leveling mage early on with all the negativity here, not all mages r gimped. my high elf mage has novice robes/hood and magicka regen is quite fast. im lvl 6 and have no problems at all.

if ur having magicka issues, investing in a conjure swords spell and getting the bound weapons perk in conjuring is amazing. if lets u keep ur pure mage character going but still helps in leveling.
