So how's this "Radiant Story" thing supposed to work

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 8:53 pm

Ok. So, I was in a town. It's a small town. Dragon came down, chomped on the store keeper who decided it was wisest to run directly AT the dragon from clear across the town, rather than to run inside and hide.

Stupid Nords.

Anyway, isn't this the sort of situation where "Radiant Story" is supposed to kick in, and replace the shopkeeper?

I don't know if this would be considered an example of radiant story or improved radiant AI, but I was doing the 2nd quest with the Companions, where you go with Farkas to the Cairn(Can't remember the full name) Anyway while in the cave I had to drop a bunch of stuff due to becoming encumbered. When I finished the quest and exited the cave with Farkas, I stopped and talked to him to see what he would say. He said something along the lines of "I noticed you dropped this back there." He gave me back one of the pick axes I dropped, how nice of him. :goodjob:

I believe if you give the game some time a new one should appear. (Not 100% but I believe that's what i gleaned out of a portion of an interview)

Radiant Story doesnt always replace shopkeepers. It may replace shopkeepers. he might stay dead and that shop empty for the rest of the game.

That would be weird. Especially since the dragon interrupted a fight they were having with someone else in town over something-I-don't-know-what.

Empty shop, almost empty town... *sigh*

If it's on PC there may be a certain console command that could help you. (Not even sure if resurrect is the correct command)
