I feel that Bethesda was finally able to strike a perfect balance between graphics, animations, stability, combat and general gameplay. The problem I always had with Oblivion (and in some respects, Morrowind) was that I felt too much time was put in to make the world look photo realistic while other areas of the game such as the animations, character models, AI, and combat really fell short not to mention the games crashed all the time. It seems as though they have learned from these mistakes and have taken a few steps forward. For the record, i play on PC and the game is better optimized than any previous Elder Scrolls games I have ever played. Im about 15 hours in with no crashes and the only bug I have experienced was a missing wall in one of the cottages which was quickly solved by reloading my game. Key bindings were also a bit of a pain but I just figured out that you can hit Q and then mouse over your weapon or spell and hit 1-9 to bind it!!!!
It also seems like they did away with the level scaling and went back to more of a static based map with a few leveled areas that you face ONLY on certain quests. Two thumbs up here! I hated the Oblivion level scaling. There is so much more to do in Skyrim and so little time.........
My main complaint is the loss of Hand to Hand skill as well as Athletics, Acrobatics. I always loved playing a monk in Morrowind and Oblivion and it appears I won't have the option to do so this time. It also svcks that they removed the stats system but the new perk system is similar to fallout so im not too upset about that one. Overall, I give the game two thumbs up and if you claim to be a gamer and you don't like this game then I will just tell you its time to hang it up, go turn your jersey in to the coach and go back to shop class. This game is [censored] unreal.
