Was there an update?

So I wasn't paying attention if there was a release day patch or not. I never used Steam before, and hadn't turned off all it's silly "automatically upload what you do to the internet" BS yet, so it may have updated without me knowing. I can't find any 1.1 info on the Bethesda website however.

The reason I ask is because suddenly I am able to click on anything in game menus whereas when I first installed I had to use the direction keys to get the item I wanted to select under the reticle. This is a good thing, but it has introduced some rather annoying problems that weren't there before.

Most notably, if I change my key bindings the UI doesn't update to reflect. For example, I have set favorites to R and weapon sheath to Q. In game where it says "hit E to dop item", it doesn't work. I have to use Q to drop items, but the menu still says to use E.

Same thing with taking books. Says use E, but I have to hit Shift, which is what I set to activate. Kinda annoying but I figured a way around it for now (ignoring menus and just using the correct keys.)

Also, this hidden patch also seems to have introduced a bug where if you change the in-game video settings like brightness, it drops the sliders for Light fade and Specular fade way down, so you have to exit the game to set them back up again.

Pretty much. Nothing on keyboard or mouse works with the game. But if you got it on the funbox you're good to go.

Thanks for the link. I am going to go ahead and take this as a good thing. Hopefully the fact this first patch is out at release will mean more frequent updates are to follow. Especially since they decided to go with Steam, which many dislike. It gives them a chance to redeem themselves by facilitating these hypothetically regular updates, ala curse client.

So much else about the game is done well, these little nitpicky things really are just a matter of more people reporting specific issues.
