Any disappointments yet?

For me:
Granted, I do agree the character models are way better than Oblivion's. I like the realistic touch, and the fact that they look like they have bone structures. It's quite amazing to be honest. But I do have a few issues. I'm slightly disappointed that we're only given presets to adjust. Oblivion's character creation was better in this aspect because you could change everything and weren't just set on a preset nose or preset eye. Oblivion was easier to mold into what I wanted as a character. I also would have prefered an Age slider and a Hair Length Slider with a color wheel. I liked making my own customizable hair colors, a little bit of black with some blue or gray in it. Skyrim's customization, imo, should have been the baby of Fallout 3 [which still gave you customizable hair color mind you] and Oblivion [the able to graph as you please]. I do agree a lot of the characters do when you first start out look 50 years old, well the males do. The presets for the Bretons were highly disappointed and when the beginning guy goes, "You come from Daggerfall" the fact that I just crossed the border, to hell a Breton is going to look rugged in that way. I was able after a few hours to mold a good Breton, but it isn't exactly what I want. I'm not asking for super model males or beautiful men with no blemishes. But I am asking for a little more flexibility in being able to shape the models. I miss the age slider, I miss the hair length and customizable hair color slider as well. I don't like presets you can barely fix up. I think this game is amazing. But it has some things that are slightly disappointing.

I hate the NPC's that I can't talk to and sometimes repeat the same things. All of the guards tend to do this.

I also hate those trolls as they always murder me after i forget to save

I kind of wish they waited to make this a next gen game, or a current pc game so they could take advantage of what current hardware can do. You can do lots of revolutionary cool stuff with how powerful our processors are.

But instead the game was designed to work on 7 year old consoles.

I'm not talking about graphics by the way, I'm talking about AI and gameplay mechanics. PCs are able to handle much more complex AI, for example, than skyrim has. If only they designed the AI with PCs in mind

Only problem ive had so far is finding out how many ways the argonians get jipped
I was excited for hoods and helmets to finally fit them
And surprise!!!
They got nerfed....
Hoods dont have the mask part and helms squash the snout into a human shape
U put on a full dwarven set and it looks like human with a tail
Only hat ive seen that actually contours to the head is the executioner hood

Children don't stand around in my game, I watched one child bully another and most of them run around the town. I also got the chance to play hide and seek with one child (I had a choice of hide and seek or tag)/

I thought that in oblivion we'd be heading to summerset isle since everyone spoke about it. That wasnt the case though. Perhaps the NPCs talking about elsweyer doesnt mean anything for future DLC

I don't have any disappointments yet, because I don't have unrealistic expectations.

Our technology is light years away from doing ACTUAL physics real time in the game. And A.I. is the same, so I don't expect anything fancy from NPC's.

I miss the questlog from oblivion. There's just so little information in the quest log now, on sidequests even nothing. I feel like it gets a lot more shallow when i am just fetching something that i see in my quest log, whereas in oblivion the quest log would give me some backdrop as to why i was fetching it and for whom.

I think I killed one of them lol. It was a Dark Brotherhood Assassin who had been hired to off me. Too bad she didn't do it at night when my claymore has a small, but harder time seeing.

And you miss-understood the description of the snow. It is dynamically placed by the game engine. The snow doesn't pile up, when you enter a cell the game decides (based on some method they use) where all the snow goes.

I'm using the Xbox 360.
Everyone misunderstood that description. It was in NUMEROUS articles that it piled up and so on... Same with dungeon dust.

My only serious complaint so far would have to be the lack of a hot key system. Makes selecting what you want a real hassle, even with the Favorites menu. I wish there was an
Option to use the hot key system from Oblivion, where changing spells/items was a breeze.
Oh, and the lack of descriptions for quests in the quest log. Misc. Quests don't even have a description.

For me:

2. Children
All the children I've seen just stand statically in one place for hours and hours. I haven't seen any playing or fighting or running through the streets. But possibly I haven't played enough, maybe they will start doing that when there are lots of kids in one place. Also they look pretty good and their voices are pretty good so I won't complain too much.

the first kid I ran into challenged me to a game of hide and seek, which I played and won by the way.. usually I see them walking around town just like the advlts, and when I pass they'll blurt out some random story or ask a stupid question. just like real life :D

Hate hate hate everything about the UI on PC. Not only bland, but barely functional.

For me it is the hud. I play on a older model TV, and this game was obviously not made for an older model TV. Text is hard to see at times, and the far corners of the screen for stats such as fatigue and gold for barter are impossible to see for me.

the lack of quest descriptions especially for the misc quests I'll bet you anything is a result of there dynamic quest system. because the game decides parts of the quest dynamically it would be very difficult at the least to have it also dynamically write a quest log that made sense.

hopefully someone comes up with a mod sooner vs later that makes it less jarring. it really does get in the way and pulls you out of the experience. if they had done something different vs console i think everyone would have been that much happier on PC. it just slaps you in the face too much. how did the UI ever get out of q&a or playtesting i wonder...

cool story, bro

This is actually a negative post that doesn't come off as whiney and entitled.

Whether I agree with OP or not, I was actually inclined to read what he had to say since he wasn't just being a whiney brat about it. No need to "Cool story bro" someone who's just presenting a conversation piece.
