Why is looking up and down half as fast as horizontal lookin

Topic.

I have turned off the controller setting and disabled mouse acceleration in the ini file and yet nothing seems to be able to fix the slow up and down mouselook. I cant even play the game because it makes me nauseous with the uneven mouse sensitivity and no means of adjusting the speed of the y-axis. I've been looking forward to this game all year and I've been playing Elder Scrolls games since Daggerfall but I had to quit the game and I dont intend to play it until this issue is fixed. Unbelievable.

There was a slight unbalance between horizontal view and vertical view in oblivion, but that could easily be fixed from the optiojns menu. I have, however, not noticed this on the ps3 version in Skyrim. Perhaps it's so small I missed it?

It's in the PC version, sorry for not specifying.

For me it's the opposite, vertical mouse speed increases the more FPS i have. The only way to solve this is to use VSync which then again has it's own disadvantage of totally laggy mouse movement in menues.
There also is the possibility to use two commands in skyrim.ini, add

[controls]
fMouseHeadingYScale=0.0100
fMouseHeadingXScale=0.0200

It's suggested to change both values to be the same, but it didn't quite work for me. Maybe it will for you.
