Skyrim is Epic

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 8:17 pm

10 hours and I still feel like a tourist, the content is huge with epic encounters like ice trolls, dragons chasing me, and I run like hell everytime, literally, lol. :)
And I've not found any bugs in-game, great rpg. sandbox game Todd Howard, and I'm still in search of the dark brotherhood. 'grin'

I agree. Everything is so much improved from Oblivion. I'm 9 hours in and want to keep on playing all night. I wish Beth would release a patch soon to fix a few bugs and performance issues though.

It's epic-ally buggy, If that's what you mean. My game on pc is virtually unplayable.

Learn how to maintain your computer properly then. It's running perfectly at ultra settings for me and I have a slightly lower spec than you.

Really, I'm playing on PC too and my spec. is low end AMD card 9800 gtx. 4 GB ram with 64 bit vista. dual core 2.2
I had to alter the setting down a bit concerning shadows, water reflection etc, and it helped a lot about game play.

I agree 100%. I actually haven't felt this drawn into a game since Morrowind. I'm just constantly in awe when walking around the world. I spent two hours yesterday exploring along the river at Riverrun, just picking flowers and catching fish.

It's a new twist about the assassin guild that's certain. :)

There was a bit about 3-4 hours in when I was climbing a mountain near Riverrun. I turned a corner and saw Whiterun and the surrounding coutryside laid out before me. I just gaped for about ten minutes. Just epic.

Im trying not to go straight to the other cities right away....feels so much better when you see a city in the distance getting bigger and bigger, i will be using the carts at some point though.

Yes, I ran to Ivarstead from Whiterun to learning my shouts further, and I found so many interesting locations I want to explore. 'grin'
I helped a guy to find his wife in a robber camp within a tower, and it turned out that she was the bandit boss, lol.
I killed her, 'cause she had an orcish axe, and she had capture an innocent lady, which was also killed within the tower, and I told her husband she was dead, hehe.

I stole from dear old innocent granny from riverwood and she hired 3 goons with big war axes to kill me . 2 hit kills and an awesome finishing move and I was dead everytime. I quickly ran away . damn that woman. I'm biding my time till granny gets an unwelcome visitor in the night

oh and my lovely drinking game I had where apparently I went on a bender and woke up an a chapel lol

Yes, I prefer running myself, but it's nice to discover a new location when u need to visit the city later on.
Winterhold, mage college for instance with my dark elf character (I trained perks in multicasting in the destruction school and it was fun.) ;)
And with all the perks in-game, it's so many ways to play a character so I'm really excited. :)
I'm also into necromancy, I raised a zombie after I killed a bandit.
The bandit zombie growled; kill, kill, and ran after another robber, it was hilarious and amazing graphic! haha.

How is it unplaybale? I`m playing with ultra settings+fxaa 1920x1080 with gfx460 1gb+4gb ram+old core 2 duo e6600 overclocked to 3ghz and I consider it totally playable that way, altough fps outside is like 25-30 it`s still very playable, no crashes+no bugs/glitches noticed after 10 hours of playing. Only thing that I`ve noticed is that when in 1st person view mode you are not casting a shadow while you are in 3rd person view.
