I have a bunch of gold ore, but how do I smelt it into ingots? The furnace place (where you make metal armor and weapons) doesn't have the option. Do I need to have high enough blacksmithing? Is there a whole different type of crafting station where I'm supposed to do this?

At a smelter, Blacksmiths have them.
