Mouse sluggishness in full screen?

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 6:34 pm

Hi there guys,

I've been playing all night in windowed because when i go into full screen my mouse seems.. sluggish somehow. When its in windowed its alot more responsive.

Any idea how i can fix this? Its not just skyrim, but more noticable because i'd like to play it in full screen. :P

Software cursor. You can't do anything about it.

It's a console port, so they don't really care about implementing things like hotkeys or cursor support into the game properly.

We have to live with our sluggish software cursor.

Darn it. But why doesn't it do it in windowed mode? It feels so much more responsive.

I think you have to go to your skyrim folder and find the Skyrimprefs.ini file, and find something like "bMouseAccelaration=1" (Under {controls} ) and change the 1 to a 0. it helped for me greatly and it's a lot more responsive.

Try turning off vsync/vertical sync if it's on, either in the game if you can (I've only played on 360 this far so not sure what options there are on PC) or in the driver.

that doesn't change the fact that it's a software cursor. For me, turning off mouse accel changes nothing.

Sorry for asking this, but how do I play the game in full screen mode? I can find no settings for it in the .exe properties or in the game itself, and alt-enter doesn't work. I can only play it in a window.

They have implemented hotkeys and you can turn off mouse acceleration.

That removes the small delay the mouse has?

Yes it makes the mouse really smooth. Definitely worth turning it off.

I'm not sure why Bethesda didn't take the time to add some of the toggle-able options found in the pref.ini file to the in-game option menu.
