Is it me, or are there a lot of people attacking the PC game

There's people saying things like "Glad I didn't pre-order... Bethesda need to learn that they can't treat PC gamers this way" or "If this is a console port I'll just get it on Xbox". There are people claiming they gave up after 20 minutes because of the interface, which strikes me as an interesting use of £35 / however much it was in dollars. Assuming they paid for it, of course. There's almost certainly more than a few pirates here. And now the rage has spread to Metacritic- lots of people who haven't played the game slagging it off, much like they have done for Modern Warfare 3. I haven't even played that game, but I doubt that any the people calling it a 'map pack' have actually played it.

There are people with hardware-specific technical issues. Bethesda should really have made sure the manual was linked in the Steam interface when it came out, but if you look again you'll find that it's there now. There should be an option to switch off mouse acceleration and make the sensitivity the same for the Y axis as it is for the X axis. Rebinding keys should work properly. The interface isn't brilliant, though if you can get used to it and use the keyboard controls it works fine. I've not encountered a single issue so far, though maybe I'm just lucky.

But... all these things will likely be patched soon, and assuming you've actually bought the game it'll just update through Steam. Who knows? Maybe they'll release a high-def texture pack too.

So basically: if you've not played it, stop attacking it. If you have paid for it, then go ahead.

Only problem I have with it so far is the UI and some of the lights are buggy. But everything else...well..

I've been playing it since it released, only slept once and ate in my room, and took a couple showers. :3

I think the PC version is fine, I only had minor animation problems such as my character become half immersed in a rock and automatic attack while doing a sprint power attack. Otherwise, the game runs 100% fine, and I have Intel Core 2 quad Q9300, 4GB RAM and Geforce GTX570, and I run the game on ultra, the game runs very smoothly, no lags or anything.

My only disappointment is that the shadow on your character's face sometimes look a bit squarish, even on ultra you can still see it.

Other than these minor issues, I think the PC version is really good.

Silly complaints from people who were counting on "their version" being the best instead of ending up only "just as good". Console users would be making the same complaints were the tables turned and they have been for as long as this debate has been going on in video gaming.

I have to admit though, as someone who has the rig to run the PC version on ultra, I am feeling at ease knowing that the Xbox version is just as good. I was tempted a few times to download from Steam while I waited for my copy to come in the mail. 60 bucks saved!

I love it, and yes anyone attacking the game when they don't own it can be ignored in my view, to me that's like when you are a kid and your mum wants you to eat something. You say "I don't like carrots!" she says "have you ever tried them". "No, I just know I don't like them!"
Every household has conversations like that and people who attack the game without owning it or seeing it in action are just the same in my view.

My only issue with the game as it stands so far , not really an issue, just something I wish they hadn't changed from Oblivion is the ability to have a spell "ready" as well as the weapons. In Oblivion it was great to be able to be carrying my bow but also able to cast a ranged spell using "C" . Would have been nice if that was still the same.

Does anyone know if you can "quick key" certain weapons like you could in Oblivion? I know you can favourite them but it was nice to be able to just hit number 3 for my sword and 4 for my bow etc

Other than that the UI doesn't bother me and the game itself is unbelievable, the sheer scale of the world hasn't quite hit me yet but the more I explore I'm sure it will, you don't walk far without coming across something. I've played almost constantly since release and I've only seen less than 1% of the world yet! I'm still exploring around Riverworld. Just superb

Only issue i have is the UI getting on my nerves.

A few little graphical glitches but that could just be down to my PC running it all on low settings.

and a quick point on the MW3 thing, i played it, it shoulda been a map pack.

No problems for me. Maybe menu is a little too bit consolized, but I don't care to be honest. So far I don't see any bugs.
