He says Housecarl. Someone who fights by your side and protects you etc.

I thought he meant house too at first.

Yes, her name's Lydia, you'll find her in the castle, where she'll return to when dismissed. Once you buy a house in Whiterun she'll return there instead.

The house in Whiterun is called Breezehome, and it's right next to the smithy by the gate. It's L shaped, has both an upstairs loft and a downstairs section that are the same size. By default it's kind of run down when you get it, though it does come with a bed and a storage chest in the loft. After fully upgrading it, it'll have two beds upstairs with several storage containers both upstairs and downstairs as well as an alchemy lab downstairs. I can post pictures later if anyone is really interested. I mainly bought it because I'm heavily into smithing with this character and it's VERY convenient right next to the forge, smelter, workbench, tanning rack, and grindstone. Inside furnishings ranged from 200-500 gold per package, and I can't remember exactly how many there were. I distinctly remember bedroom, dining room, living room, loft decoration, and alchemy lab packages though.
