I think it looks gorgeous for as much as a barren snow covered mountain can look. Have you really looked around? At the sky?. The moon? The artists did a spectacular job.

maybe it's cuz you have it on console. It runs fine on my pc at full settings and load screens are 4 times faster for me than console but pc interface isn't as good and crashes sometimes for no reason.
Via install the game graphics are bad muddy textures & lighting
I guess apparently this is due to a bug that Bethesda is working on patching
Cause I was like derp Oblivion looks 3 times better then Skyrim
While I agree that the textures are fairly low-res and the lighting is not up to par with some other titles, it still looks much better than Oblivion overall.
I thought the game looked great until I came to a place with snow on the stairs. I honestly thought my video card was bugging out, I turned off the game reloaded it but it didn't change anything.

That was exactly what happened to me too! That is the only time in the game where I thought it looked bad. I exited and restarted as well thinking it was a graphics glitch!
