Is walking speed just a bit too slow?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 12:49 pm

Love the game so far, fantastic. But, I feel like I need another walking speed somewhere between walking and running. Walking is just a bit too slow for me, but when I run all the time I feel like I'm missing too much.

I'm a fast walker in real-life, so maybe it's just me. But I feel like the in-game walk speed is a leisurely Sunday stroll rather than a faster, purposeful, but relaxed walk.

Perhaps a simple walk speed slider would be useful? Maybe an easy early mod idea? :thumbsup:

Thoughts?

I think its fine. In fact I sneak a lot of the time as I find it a touch fast at times. Certainly with the jog and separate sprint you should be having little problems really.

I deliberately slow myself down sometimes. It's nice to not be in a hurry all the time. It's not too slow imo.

The silly thing is that NPCs seem to walk faster, so I can't keep up.
If I want to follow them I need to run-and-stop, run-and stop.

Its nice to walk at a slow and steady pace sometimes...

Plus it has to be kind of slow since its the encumberance limit enforcer.

@J.Corvus

I never had that problem...

I always run faster than NPC's :P.

I don't notice walking speed as an Archer and (big) game hunter i'm sneaking most of the time anyway so I don't scare of the wildlife.

Yes, this is a bit frustrating. When following NPC's, they walk faster than my walk, but slower than my run! So I have to run to keep up with them, but then stop to wait...otherwise I fall too far behind...it's a little weird. :sadvaultboy:

But seriously great game anyway!! :hubbahubba:

Well, walking speed is fine so far. WE dont need faster walking speed due the world already feeling a bit cramped. At least this is update for the million of generic copy paste caves that were rampart in oblivion and fallout 3. And both of those games had bigger map.
