Is Imperial still the most balanced race?

Like human? I just got the game. Creating a character and already asking questions. In Oblivion I think i had an imperial rogue. I don't like going kajit or wood elf because i like to fight hand to hand a bit. Kind of like a more powerful rogue/hunter type class. I like to have a better balance vs super quickness and dexterity. I also like the speech and gold bonuses.

My rogue/hunter guy is a Nord. Pretty sure they receive a better stealth and combat bonus (the stealth part befuddles me).

Every race should be pretty equal in the end game I believe

The only difference between races now are the racial abilities and the starting skill levels.

Since you level-up by doing it's always best to pick a race based on the special ability you like. Imperials get more gold and can calm someone once a day. Those are pretty good abilities, but probably not the best ever.

It's TES, you can be a Breton warrior or a Khajit mage. When you've advanced a couple of levels it won't really matter anymore.
