My Lydia has disappeared for multiple days at a time twice so far. The first time I thought she had somehow died permanently, but she showed up again eventually, no clue what happened. The second time... she hasn't come back from yet and it's been a few days, I'm feeling pretty nervous about it.

I found an Amulet of Mara in a dungeon somewhere, and i'm pretty sure i didn't get the extra topic when talking to her.
Saying that, I haven't visited the guy in Riften yet so i couldn't say for sure, for now tho she's guarding my chest of smithing materials in the Whiterun house, I prefer to adventure alone

No in all seriousness, bought the guidebook today and YES she can be married apparently!!
I am wearing the amulet but she ain't playing ball yet another lady who I had a fist fight with in the back of the bar has already noticed I'm wearing the amulet and declared herself 'available' for me - trouble is I just don't fancy her.
I'll keep trying........
